Release agent for bending form?
Hi guys,
I have to glue up some curved beams for the roof of a boat that my boss is having restored. There will be 5 in total. They will be 2800mm in length with 100mm of curvature.
I am going to need repeatability out of the form, so what should I use to keep the beams from sticking to the form. In the past, I've just used a bit of packing tape over anything I didn't want stuck, and that has worked for me. However, I haven't done anything that needed to be repeated this many times.
My thoughts were to have a base board with a sheet of plastic on it, then screw my form down to the base board, sandwiching the plastic between them and then covering the form with packing tape. Do you think this will be sufficient, or will I need some sort of release agent?
I'd hate to get a couple made then have to destroy the form or the beam because one got stuck.
Thanks

I have a very long roll of plastic that works a treat. Not sure what it's called but it's the stuff that freezer bags are made from. One pack of large bags might do the job for you.
