How it looks
Hi
Sorry about the quality of the photo (done with my phone).
You can see the square patch I hope. It's larger that the initial hole looked like but the ply split more on one side than the other. Hence a larger patch.
I hope this doesn't happen again soon. It took away a lot of trips to the lakes this summer.
Cheers,
Pete

You're lucky you're living in Slovenia, if you lived here you'd have some ratbag telling you 'it's no good, here, I'll take it off your hands for you'
It'll be fine. There are worse things that can happen to a boat than a few battle scars ... not being used at all springs to mind

The repair looks good .
Just a note for other repairs or larger jobs. I was shown how to slope each edge at 45 degrees toward the water side . Make a patch with sloped sides to fit in and then make a larger patch to go inside . Glue the patch from the outside into place first , back it up with the second patch inside and screw the two together . It ain't going anywhere then !

Howdy, 45degree edges won't make much difference one way or another. Really just something to complicate the fit for someone who hasn't done this work before.
If a piece of ply on the inside will not be visible or the owner is not worried, then this is a great approach (quick AND simple), but in this case it is a canoe with a very clean interior ... so a piece of ply on the inside would look pretty bad.
So fixing with glass with some care taken to not allow the glass to sit proud of the surface will have the minimum visual impact.
Just compiled some links to useful boat repair articles ... mostly to do with plywood
Best wishes
