Phi Phi I once built a Hartley TS16 which was heavy on the internal framing, which was the method of its design era but often thought that there would a lot of scope for stitch and tape like is possible now that epoxy is commonplace. Makes for much easier internal maintenance and less weight. Sure you have to deal with the goo but once mastered you won’t look back. I vote for following the updated Fisher method. I’d even go as far as to say, if you can afford it, to build a small dinghy in the method you choose to get the hang of building, if this is your first boat.

Email Paul Fisher to ask his advice about upscaling because it may not be as straightforward as first seems, for example some of the scantlings may need increasing or he may say increase length but not beam, also keep cabin height down to avoid windage etc etc

Thanks AndrewPatrol for comments and suggestions. The TS was on my short list for a while, but I opted for the character of the Senior over the performance of the Hartley, I'm looking for sedate rather than exciting.

I did ask Selway-Fisher that questions right after I bought the plans from them, but no response.
I have built David Beede's Summer Breeze, though I built it with internal chine logs rather than stitch and glue, so I have had a little practice with the goo, and the only issue I encountered, being Queensland based, was it setting too quickly.

I figured that by increasing the boat by the same percent in each direction it would have the least affect on the design/shape of the boat, though I am still hoping for a response from Selway-Fisher, but the people at the Eventide Owners Group say the Senior, and several other of Gibbs designs, are regularly upscaled successfully.

As for the scantlings, that was a concern of mine too, but I am thinking about adding a small bridge deck, which would add an additional frame at it's aft end in the cockpit, and also of adding an extra frame at the forward edge of the cabin roof, it just seemed a long way between the cabain bulkheads not to have a frame, even without the upscale.

Will keep this update with decisions and progress on the model.

Fisher has some good books available on their website, or at least they used to.. Another book worth its weight is the Gougeon Brothers on Boat Construction, very weighted to West System but can be adapted.
dunno if you know but you can get different hardeners for epoxy and I’m reasonably sure Bote Cote does a Tropical one, they are Queensland based too.

Another thing I used to do was buy study plans of similar sized craft and then you can get a feel for the size of scantlings to use.
