In regards to posting a link to our video on your fishing forum... your quite welcome to use it.
Can you also include our website address along with the link. It would be much appreciated.

    Curious though, whats the forum??

    Thanks Dave,
Nicely worded. As a matter of interest, that video has had 25,624 hits in the last 3 weeks - world wide. Its getting hammered.
    Anyway, thanks again Dave

    Default Yeah,o

I know Mark-in his wisdom one of the moderators deemed the link to your site to contravene a rule about not disadvantaging sponsors, which includes a marine dealership-I shot back a reply pointing out that none of them sell plans and it's not likely to cost them a sale for people to look, and am waiting for a reply.Bloody petty attitude in my book, and unfair to the members, there's always a lot of interest around homebuilt boat posts.
    Cheers,
    Dave.

For all you know Dave, I betting one of the moderators is a Dealership. The petty thing about it is, it's far cheaper to build your own and, by building your own, your spreading the money around, thereby helping to build the economy. A win/win for everyone.

Personally, I love stitch and glue.

As for coating panels, I prefer to do that last.

My personal addiction is getting all those panels matched. I cut and plane all panels in pairs. Clamped or tacked together, so that each side is a near to perfect mirror of the other.

I no longer use, wire or any other type of removable tie.

Buy a coil of rovings from your fibreglass supplier. Thread the roving as you would normally through your pre drilled holes. This is pretty boring work, as the fibres need to be handled carefully.
Tighten every thing up as normal.

    Fillet your joins.

The rovings become part of your build when they are saturated with epoxey.

Externally, you will need to sand a little more. But so what. No holes to fill at all and the roving forms part of the stucture.

Just my own 2 bobs worth.

    Paul.
    I FISH THEREFORE I AM.

    G'day Everyone,
In case any of you who may have been interested in the progress of our Mushulu 14, its just been SOLD. An elderly gentleman drove up from the Gold Coast (4.5 hr drive), took one look at her and smacked the money down. He told me he hd been going over our Mushulu 14 build pictures over the past week and loved really the video.

Now i just have to go like mad, finish off these next 3 contracts ( the Cruise Control, a 24 ft motor Cruiser and the camper boat as decribed on our "Latest News" page) and then I can start building our next project ( I'm thinking about a 17 ft strip plank composite centre console...but not definete yet)

    G'day Everyone,
I know this may be a bit of a commercial blurb, but we get so many enquires asking if our designs will be coming out in kit form. So with this in mind and working with Andrew Denman from DENMAN MARINE, we're now bringing out all our plywood boat designs as CNC kit boats as well, ( the Mushulu 14 being the first kit boat), making it easier and quicker for you to construct and get out boating.

Andrew had provided a few photo's of the first Mushulu 14 CNC (kit #1) being assembled for our website and his comments regarding the kit's assembly and design:

    Hi Mark,
All together. I'll tell you what, I have put together a few boats and this thing would be the easiest one so far. It took 10 minutes to assemble the cradle and 7 hrs total having the boat all stitched together.
I know it is early days yet and there is a lot more to fit, but well done on the design work.
    regards
    Andrew Denman
If anyone is interested, for further infomation regarding the Mushulu 14 CNC kit, please contact Andrew at www.denmanmarine.com.au

    regards
    Mark (MRINA)

The CNC tranom now located on the cradle

I've just posted a thread regarding the University of Tasmania (School of Engineering)now building the Mushulu 14 as part of their curiculum.
It's good to see the students having fun. not only are they learning about engineering, but it's a great way to introduce them to boatbuilding, something I'm sure we all hope will continue for the rest of their lives. Maybe one day we'll see them here
