Stripper
It has taken me a while to find a suitable stripper but finally I have found one that works really well.
It is called "coopers Paint stripper". It is available here in Australa from the Heritage Building Centre in Sydney. The product is not cheap but it works really well.
Initially I purchased a 0.5 litre kit to assess the suitability in stripping the paint from the inside of a clinker speed boat. Well I was impressed enough to go back and buy another 2litres of the product to do the rest of the boat.
I have probably removed the paint from between 35-40% of the inside of the boat with 2 litres of the stripper and flusher.
I have no commercial link with the retailer but it real works with minimal fuss or cleaning up.
It is applied by a squished bottle so is a liquid and easily controlled. I have used the brass wires brushes to get into the grain as opposed to the steel wool mainly because it is easier to remove the gummy paint and dirt between the ribs with the brush.
When it all dries up after the flusher has dried it is easy to vacuum up the residue left behind. The only hard part is getting the stuff from behind the ribs.
There would appear to be a similar production the US of A called Star Ten. Seems to work as easily and has similar results

If you go the way of ABRASIVES, there is a product called a STRIP-IT DISC- CLEAN & STRIP- .
THESE ARE ALL THE SAME DISC WITH DIFFERENT NAMES , THEY ARE BASICALLY A NYLON SCOURER PAD ON STEROIDS.
They work best on a low speed SANDER POLISHER used for buffing paint on cars
( machine that is).
These will remove the PAINT with out damage to the timber IF USED CORRECTLY .
However they will make dust, so if this is an issue then Chemical Strippers and ensure that you clean the timber thoroughly after.

Dust is not an issue but with clinker construction finding something that can get between the ribs and into tight spots is the issue.
I have some more coming this week so should get the rest of the interior stripped this week.
