    Default suitable timber for oars

I'm having a thaught about making some oars....nothing fancy...just oars for a tinny.

thinking about what would be appropriate timber.

I gather that the usual heavy hardwoods would be bit.... heavy

the various pines would probablybe a bit on the weak and prone to rott.

    how about hoop or cyprus

    any thaughts.

    cheers

Hey Soundie, I'll bring a couple of different sets down to TJ's if you're going, to give you a few ideas.

    Cheers,
