    Default Unidentified Canvas/Wood canoe frame

    Hi everyone, I am trying to identify the design "name" for this Canadian style canoe. My only information on it at present is that it was built approx 40 years ago in Tasmania, presumably in the Hobart-Huon region. There are no distinguishing markings as far as I can see at the moment. I can post detail photos of any parts that might need a closer look.....

    Looks like one I saw two Indian dudes paddling in an old western movie - but I think it was covered in buffalo hide at the time !

    I spent an hour or so with a water blaster on the week-end and the frame has now dried out enough for a good look. From what I've seen so far though, I think she's unlikely to make it back to the water.......it would be nice to scare up some history as the original construction seems to have been well carried out. My guess is that there was an attempt to "refurbish" that may have not gone deep enough at the time......has been well used though.......Time for a strong cup of realism....
