Very nicely done. An Olds would suit it nicely. Powerful enough, and a more relaxing sound than the Chapman or Simplex. Also cleaner.

Hi all . Just about ready to launch,hopefully mid March. She will be called "ZOE" after my grandaughter. Some progress pictures.

What a splendid project! I take my hat off to you, that obviously is a labour of love and it looks like a masterpiece.
I have always admired the workmanship in fine wooden boats and yours is exceptional.
That refurbished Chapman brings back a lot of memories.

Thanks Ruddy. Thankfully this project has kept me busy in my retirement. Without it I think I would become very bored. You cannot go fishing everyday LOL.

You are really doing a beautiful job on "Putt Putt". I don't really have the patience to build boats, I have a 12' sail boat sitting in my garage I started about 9 years ago. It is about 2/3rds complete but I just can't seem to get past the sanding epoxy stage. maybe someday I will get back to it. I really respect anyone that completes a wooden boat. I never get tired of looking at wooden boats.

Pat yourself on the back for this one! OOOzing "atmosphere" that u just don't get with f/glass etc.
This style of craft is exactly what I have had in mind as being ideal for cruising the shallow Broadwater between Bris. & Gold Coast.
Hint on finishing - from my experience with furniture & boats I have found the pores in hrdwds seal a lot better if u can brush on the first 3 coats than rub back with 400 wet & spray the final coat(s). the 1st coat I dilute a little more to give better penetration into the wood. My best mate has a 100 yr old boat & we have had surprisingly good durability topsides(cabin roof ) with Resene roof (household) paint! with sand added for grip. I also like the Altec(Resenes marine division) clear 2-pac polyurethane as it can be brushed & sprayed. When brushing 2-pac small droplets will set hard in the brush & are then dragged into the finish leaving a rough texture - the brush/spray method will eliminate this.(Just my opinion - but it works for me)
