    Question what's this price like.

my son has a 4.4 fiberglass boat and the transom and the keel stringer is getting replaced the chap that is fixing it seems to know what he is doing as that what he does.he said the transom and stringer were only 17 mm thick and he will replace them with the transom 2 17 mm sheets = 34mm and the stringer to 30 mm.what i would like to know is the quote of $2850 for the job around the mark.there is'nt any carpet involved but the seats and the motor is put back in,on the boat. regards Lloyd

About 15 years ago when i was living in Hervey Bay we had the transom replaced in a 17' Haines, we removed and refitted the outboard and all the bits and pieces and from memory that cost about 1500 to 1800 so given the time difference etc I wouldn't be too upset at that price, all depends on the quality of work really I have seen some horror work on trawlers for lots of money and some real quality work for simillar amounts so I guess that will be the deciding factor........... quality over price equals money well spent
