Nice pics... I saw a boat buiilding race once where everything was slapped together with tubes of black 'Sikaflex'. Most of them were floating within a few hours. Girlfriend and I were commissioned to do a demo of how easy boat building is by the maritime museum and a marine architect... Ours didn't get out of the car park, but thats another story.

    Gidday there Len

Sikaflex? mmmmm so me idea of gettin a couple of tubes of that clear external use silicone and whackin it on wasnt far off the mark??

Well I was startin to figure that since thats what I used on the canoeythingy I built last year which has held together brilliantly... well other than the paint not stickin to the stuff that is Really I am plannin on takin her apart next winter and restoring her so shes only gotta last bein dragged to the local ramp on the 6 x 4 trailer and ditched in and dragged out of the drink about 400 times between now and then... all sand bottom no rocks or other such abrasions to be held against her... mmmm thinks this could maybe work... thanks mate!

So why didnt yours get outta the car?

About time yer showed up Chris! hows it been? hows yer own baby gettin on?

So yer dont like the silicone stuff eh? must tell canoeythingy that... she will be dispondent that I didnt use something more acceptable in putting her together ... but there yer go just whacked her together usin what was hanging around the shed no worries dont expect her to last more than a few seasons then the missus will have a new ubeaut garden bed for strawberries!!

No worries I'll get some of that Sikaflex stuff... is there a particular sort or just the one? you know a certain name for waterproof sorta thing? or do I just head to bunnings and ask for Sikaflex and get what they point out?

Bloody photo just comes up with the address cant get the flamin mongrel to show in the text box! but I'll have another go round hopefully the buggars will show this time...

    Me takin delivery

    In the shed upside down...

    Right side up...

    Inside up toward the stem...

    And back to the transom...

The only real problems I see at present aside from having to create somewhere to park me bum and some floatation... is where the ply of the bum meets the sides... and at the join of the keel and stem which have both come away a tad... so Im cleaning the rock hard and cracked ancient goop out... hope these photos show up in the text this time

Damn! no such flamin luck!! damned if I know whats happenin I copy the address of the pic hit that "img" button up there and paste the address in the box that appears then click okay... but no show? bloody ell

    pic's worked fine 4 me!!!

my favorite one is with you pretending to be the outboard motor!!!!! can you pls splash some paint and epoxy around in that shed of yours so it looks like a real shed, it's way to clean and new lookin!!!!

milk crates work fine for seats.. they hurt your bum, and slide around with every wave, but otherwise... although i suppose you could fix'em down with the nailgun..

Shane. Mine didn't get outa th carpark because first we were supplied with the wrong nails (brittle silicon bronze instead of nice soft cleatable copper) the right nails couldn't be found(sunday) so we went to screws, the screws required bigger holes, the bigger holes caused the minimum spec rails to break where they joined the frames and to top it off the plywood sheets we were working on began to buckle in the 45 degree heat and throw all the frames out of line so mid afternoon we gave it away by mutual agreement with all parties. I still get a chuckle out of the memory though because the maritime museum had at first asked me to do it for free and said that I could keep the boat. Fair enough. Then the day before they rang up and said no they wanted to keep the boat, would I still do it ? Short notice and no negotiations. will be entered into. Alright I said but I'll need two hundred dollars for me and one hundred for my offsider paid upfront....
So we kept the cheque and they kept the bits and pieces.
