Forum may run slow for a few hours 27 May 2023 (today)

Spent the best part of the last couple of weeks finding and putting threads into places there they didn't come from or didn't exist before the mirroring of the dead Renovate Forum forums. Some came across from there as dead likks that went to nowhere or back to that nonexistent forum.

Because of this I need to do some back room stuff updating counters, etc, that will make the moved stuff easier to find in the new locations. This process should help dramatically with searches of these Renovate Forums.

Please bear in mind that almost none of what has been moved will not be new, some of it may even date back as far as 1999 but may still help with problems and questions members may have.

Still a lot more to move around another week or so's work I would reckon. So doing counter updates, etc is best done now as doing the whole lot could be such a load on the forums that the whole thing could shut down.

It is incredible the amount of work behind the scenes that many people don't appreciate or understand that it takes to keep a site like this ticking over with the minimal amount of disruption.

What we do!

Steven (Administrator) the Computer Guru who fixes stuff when it all goes pear shaped.

DJ’s Timber (Administrator) is the workhorse... the ever watchful eyes and ears (coclia) of the forums. DJ is main reason for the clean running of the forums. Quick as lightening smooth as silk and always on the ball. Do the wrong thing and he will deal with you swiftly and quietly. He's the main reason members hardly ever see any spam, or fights, etc.

ubeaut - me (Administrator/forum owner/Benevolent Dictator, AKA Neil, Librarian). The one moving stuff all over the place and the one, "where the buck stops!".

OOPS! Almost forgot the most important people of all... Doh!!!

The Moderators: Yes! The most important of all. Our moderators.
A list of them can be found in Community drop down under Members List. All 128,000+ of them are our moderators and responsible for many of the reported posts when there's a forum problem, members problem, a rogue spammer, fights, arguments, slander, idiot stirrer(s), etc, etc. etc.

To the members... The lifeblood of our forums, I say thank you.
Without your participation, input and brilliant, self moderation, these forums may not exist.
