    Default New Deck

Thought you all might like to see my new deck (well, actually it is about a year old now!). Because the back of the house is about 3 metres high it was a tricky enterprise but very satisfying. It is just like sitting in a tree house!
    Hope you enjoy...

BTW it is now completely finished and oiled and painted but I don't have any photos of it! When I get a chance I'll post some recent ones.

Nice one. What sort of timber did you use for the deck?

The frame is all hard wood, "yellow balau" (sp???) for the actual decking and the balustrading is made from treated pine.
Even 3 metres high it stands strong and straight!!!
Cost about $5000 all up, including dingo digger for holes, cement, timber, stirrups, joist hangers, bolts, nails, screws, paint etc.
