I don't want to be rude - but it looks like something the people smugglers put Afghns on to get to Christmas Island!!

Nah , they go for much bigger boats than that !.
That boat is 58 years old though.

That boat is interesting , but not a double- ender.
Here is another photo of her.

I got a reply to my e-mail from Bertil Andersson , his "Anna" , design number 85 is a beauty , well to my eyes anyway.
My question to Bertil now is , how well will she go with a Gaff rig ?.

That side on photo of "Anna" needs to be viewed carefully .
If you expand it right up , you will see it has a little cuddy at the back of the wheelhouse , the same as the cray boats here do.

The original engine was a SABB 30 hp , which would sound fantastic.
But I'd like to go Nanni Hybrid.
I reckon having 10hp of electric power available would be fantastic for a little help , when fishing under sail.
    Any thoughts ?.

I spoke to Garry Stewart this morning , showed him what I had on Anna , which he likes , he showed me an old Danish book on wooden boats , and the upshot is , he reckons it wouldn't be hard for him to build exactly as I want.
    Sounds good to me !.

The nanni hybrid is too damn expensive , the 10hp electric motor addition and its controller costs $16,000 !.
I think a Gardner LW2 would do the job beautifully , and I'm checking up on a hybrid system I can add on for much less.

Garry Stewart has just suggested a "Couta" boat style centreboard on her , that would be interesting !.

I've been contacted in regard to a new SABB 22hp 2GZ , and another SABB 2J 30 hp that is supposed to have few hours on it.
Or there is the as good as new , rebuilt Gardner 2LW , which is taller , and heavier.
Not sure which way to go.
    Any thoughts ?.

Here is a photo of the SABB 2J , and a pamphlet for the 22hp engine http://www.nordsabb.dk/files/Sabb/sabb22hk.pdf . I love the boat in the pamphlet , its great ! , the rig , I'd prefer a gaff rig.

This is the 2 GZ , 22 hp SABB.
Note the hand start setup , it can be used from the front , or the back.
