    Default Handy Punt Modification

    Hi All,
I was wondering whether it would be possible to modify the Handy Punt to have a Little Speed boat type cuddy at the front (as pictured) then attach remotes and steering.
    Many Thanks

Assuming that's your boat, bung her in the water, move to the front of the boat and see how she sits. If it sits nicely in the water, jam a bit of pvc pipe onto the tiller of your outboard (ie, extend the tiller so you can use it from the front of the boat) and very carefully see how she goes with you sitting up there - I've seen this pvc pipe trick listed as 'a good thing to do' but have often wondered if that 'good' is for the user or for the benefit of layabout watchers. However, if it seems to work, have a go at your modification.

Of course, you could also wait for Mik to give his opinion

    Howdy,

It all looks feasible - a piece of 6mm ply should just about do it, built like the hull.

But it seems to be a much too little boat to go to that effort unless there is a really big need.

However if you do have a need ... and the extra expense doesn't look too much for you, then ... why not. Just keep everything as light and simple as possible.
