Maple veneer for large-scale model ship decks
G'day, folks!
I am about to start work on a large-scale model of a passenger ship. I know of another modeller (from Europe) who used maple veneer as the decks on his ship; I understand that he attached the veneer sheets to a plywood base.
Does anybody know if I can buy north American or European maple veneer in or near Melbourne? If it's available, from where and what sort of price for sheets (say) 1200 x 600?
Thanks,
Pete

Try Peter Scott Young in Ringwood. 9870 8733 He seems to have everything. Can't move in his garage though:

Suggest you try Donna @ Timberwood Panels @ Brunswick. 03 9388 9849
They specialise in manufacturing veneered board, whether plywood or particleboard & are pretty fussy on result not just pump it out like some of the others.
