Moreton Bay Classic Cruisers.
I have just ordered and received this book.
It is a fantastic collection of photos of Wooden Boats built here in Brisbane.
"As an island continent, Australia has a fascinating maritime history. Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, has been built on the Brisbane River and the foreshore of the beautiful and expansive Moreton Bay. This boating paradise has inspired the evolution of a renowned local boat building industry that spans more than a century.
Classic Moreton Bay Cruisers features 53 of the locally built wooden classics that have evoked the passion of wooden boat enthusiasts across the nation.
Enthusiasts will delight in over 450 professional photographs depicting every detail of these boats, highlighting the craftsmanship of yesteryear and our parochial designs.
Andrew Harper has selected a unique group of boats ranging from 20 foot to 75 foot in length built between 1890 and 1994. This selection aptly displays the diversity of style and size of wooden boats skilfully handcrafted by our local boat builders."

I had a TR2 that was a "full house" race car.
I never drove it on the track , and it was a mongrel to drive around town , but it was great on the open road.
Unfortunately , I got hit by a drunk , and the insurance company wrote it off.
The mob that towed it away restored it completely , but unfortunately changed it from BRG to "Burnt Orange" , very "70's".

Actually , the TR2 was last seen at Charlton , quite close to you.

I have spent some time on Amity when I was younger down the "Pin", i will post some pics of the bay cruiser or launch as we new them growing up as soon as i have them scanned etc, she was launced in the late 20's early thirties, built by my GF at Mayne and launched in Breakfast Creek..." M.V. LOUISE"..... a very traditional classic of the Moreton Bay launches.
