The M500
Hi All,
Following on from the success of the M670, I have been working on a new design aimed squarely to perform well in bay conditions with the occaisional trip outside in safety. Construction is to be epoxy/timber/glass similar to the M670 with an alloy option to follow.
This design is 5.0metres in length and suitable for build in a 6m shed or standard car garage. Further models down to a length of 4.6m are also planned for this series meaning you can get the most boat possible if your build space is tight.
Features include a self draining watertight deck, under deck fuel tank and foam flotation. Both centre and side console configurations will be detailed and the ability for the builder to customise has been allowed for.
Feel free to make comment.

Hi AD,
For the hull shell I am currently looking at 5-6mm with a layer or two of Biax each side. Overlaps at keel/stem and chines as per normal for additional wear resistance in those areas. Internal structure will be mostly 12mm again fully encapsulated with glass and epoxy to keep things nice and stiff whilst keeping the water out.

Hi Kev,
At the moment I have drawn it up at 16 deg at the transom with a lot more forward. I am currently looking at 90/115 hp max for the 5mtr and down to perhaps 60hp for the 4.6m version. All subject to quite a few variables. No plans for a cabin on this one at this stage. Only the centre and side consoles in order to keep costs down. I have some other cabin concepts in my system here which I have been working on from time to time though.
I have sent a private message to you also.

Hi mboat,
thats a nice looking boat..the lines look great..question, could you upscale this boat a little, and how big before you could put a hard top on it..i have seen a few 6.2mt hardtops getting around but wonder if 5.5 would look silly...
cheers

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the compliments.
I am assuming that when refering to the term "Hardtop" you mean a T-Top over a centre console.
This boat is probably better served with a lighter bimini rather than a heavier full t-top. I do however, have a completed design for a 5.5m centre console called the M550 which might be exactly what you are looking for. It is a beamier boat with quite a bit more volume and uses similar construction techniques. Contact me privately if you want to know more.
