    Default What's this boat.

I have a recollection of a boat, it was a small sit astride boat with an outboard motor on the back - possibly a forerunner of the jet ski.
I'm assuming it would be made of timber, anyone have any idea what it was called?

I think I know the one you are talking about but can't find anything just now. Trawl gumtree, they come up for sale occasionally.

    Meanwhile some similar oddities:

    It wasn't the wet bike.
This was a small full hull boat with a sit astride bench seat and an outboard motor on the back.
Thanks anyway for the reply though.

I know what you are talking about and I've seen them come up for sale from time to time, I just can't find any atm. Terribly inconsiderate of gumtree not to have any relevant ads up at the moment...

    Hey guys,
Thanks for all your info, I'm pretty certain this is it, a thing called the Aquarail.
I think I will see if I can find some decent relatively modern plans for it - if anyone has the sources on I'd appreciate the info.
    Cheers

There have been some strange boats, we had a sailing boat that we called a Dolphin Board and I have no idea if that was the correct name or not. It was about 8 foot long from memory and had a beam of maybe two foot with a jib and main. It was as heavy as hell and as soon as we could afford something better like a VJ it got little use. I never saw another one and looking back I can understand why. When we were very young we sailed it two up but as we grew bigger it was so small we went solo.

There is probably enough there to build one. That is similar to but not exactly what I had thought you'd meant. The ones I've seen were glass single seaters with the outboard right behind the pilot and pretty much nothing in front of them.
