Default A couple of questions about floorboard repairs and finishing

    Hi Guys,
i am hoping to get some help/advice regarding floorboard repairs and finishing.
I am wanting to sell my house ASAP as the dream home has become available about a year earlier than expected.
Basically the floorboards (pine, i think) are looking a bit shabby with sctratches from big dogs sliding around and from high heels etc. some of the scratches are dark from dirt, etc. Apart from this the boards are in good condition.
If i had the time and money i would get a pro job done but can anyone recommend a product or technique i could use to get the floorboards looking more presentable for sale??

If i was to get a pro job done (sanding, finishing etc) what is a ball park figure per square metre, in Adelaide??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated if you can be bothered

Hi Bustar, you can scrape out shallow marks with a scraper which is hard to use even on a workbench, fine if you could do with losing a kilo or two. You could use a small belt sander (like proper belt sanders this would be available at hire co.) but you will have to be carefull of very fine, probably toxic, dust from the existing finish. Or you could go for the full deal: I paid a sander $8 sqm in Sydney, he was very good, you may get someone for less, get 5 quotes, ask if you can see a floor they have already done. Nick
