New cypress pine floorboards
Hello all,
I have just had about 6m2 of new cypress pine floorbaords laid. It is too small an amount to get a professional in the sand/paint, therefore I plan to do myself.
As they are new floorboards, do I need to do an entensive sanding, or just a light sanding between layers of polyurethane?
Thanks in advance
Sant

Just light sanding between different coats and they will stick.

The amount of sanding required will depend on how flat and true the floor is, cupping of boards and mismatches in heights are common and will require heavy sanding to get rid of. If the floor is flat and true then light sanding, as Wongo suggests is fine.

Thanks for the replies - it is a pretty small area, and from what I can gather it is pretty flat - will get hubby to check and go from there
Thanks again
