Hi All,

We are having issues finding a suitable position for our heater unit, so that it falls within regulations. The position it needs to go in falls between our garage door opening and a return wall (internal corner) of the house. Due to circumstances, it needs to go in this position. With the current flue position it would not be within regulations, as the flue is within 500mm of the garage door opening.

My question is, could we re-route the flue, so that it vents out the front of the unit?
Looking at the attached pictures, it seems like it would be a very simple modification - basically rotate the elbow 90 degrees so it points out the front of the unit (as per red circle on secont picture); and blank off the old hole with a blanking plate.

Warranty issues aside, is there any reason why this should not be done? Would the functioning of the unit be affected in any way?

Many thanks,
Jonty
