    Default Vulcan Heaters.

My heater just stopped working in my home. Its a Devine home so im guessing the the heater isnt a great one. This is a long shot but do any plumbers out there know whats commen on these things to go? I work for Reece Plumbing so getting the part wouldnt be hard or costly for me, but calling a plumber would be.

Mine is a Vulcan Bufalo 85 which died sometime back ( been a cold winter inside), rang plumbers to come and have a look but none turned up.
My symptoms were i unplugged the mains to use powerpoint heard click of valve closing, reconect supply and no click. Took cover off and noticed led on controller wasnt lite. Pull controller out and check fuse was ok, put back together and still nothing.
Left it for some time and waited for plumbers to come, then gave up with them.
Found a gas appliance repair man and mentioned to him he said most likey the controller and that will cost you around $250. he also said that the transformers die all the time on them and most plumbers will have one that they have already replaced the transformer in and charge the full new cost.
So stripped it down and got a replacement from radio parts and now working ok. ready for next winter.
But it should be covered under the warranty if the house is reasonably new
