Maximal size for single piece granite / manufactured stone for island bench
I have planned for a 1.2 x 2.1m island bench, including 0.3m overhang on the long side. Just curious if this is too big for a single piece of stone top? Just don't think it'll look good with a obvious joint down the middle...

No
I have just had a stone benchtop the same size cut. It was cut out of a slab about 1.5 Mtr X 3.3 Mtr

hiya , the size is fine, engineered stone will be no problem, but if it has a sink cutout in it, then the type of granite and the examples thye have can possibly cause a problem. the best person to ask for natural stone is a stonemason when you know exactly what you want, and they can check the quality of what they have versus the place you want the sink, how close to the edge, etc etc.
