Default Boat bits shops in Adelaide

    I have a conundrum

I was in at Binks Yachts (Sommerton Park) today, my local chandlery and they now stock both West and Bote Cote

Dammit, now I have to decide which poxy to use based on something more complicated than 'my local shop stocks West'

Anyways, Binks now have Bote Cote and West ... and may have done so for some time but were exclusively West for some years (ever since Mik left them actually ).

On a similar note, the new BCF store on South Rd at Richmond has quite a good range of useful stuff ... which is nice because the Glascraft Marine (?) shop in the same complex has gone into receivership.

And yes, dear old Whitworths at Pt Adelaide are still the same - they recently gouged some cash out of me for rowlocks, bolts and a lovely brass bell for Jan's front door

I'm trying to feel sorry for them, but not very successfully. Have been treated like a
pariah, or at best, a loony on so many occasions, because I wasn't buying top-of-the-
line multi-stage carbo-steel double-reverse overhead twin-cam door handles for an
    over-rated & over-priced plastic fantastic.

I wonder if this means the little 8ft Bic skiff on the floor the other week will be any
cheaper... IIRC it was about $8,000. Looked like fun though. For a midget whose
    other sport is weight-lifting.

Me... I use BoteCote. Originally because Duck Flat sold it to me. Now I use it because
    a) it is Aussie-made &
    b) the 2:1 proportions make it -really- hard to stuff up a brew. Even for me.

    HTH
    cheers

p.s. are you about the place this week? thinking to either swing past & swap
outrageous lies about boats. Or even wet a boat's bottom. Thursday looks like the
pick of a dismal week for that.

I should be about most of the time, trying to finish this darned boat ... or trying to find some way of earning a living ... or telling lies on here ... or ...

Richard, c'mon mate, fly the flag, buy Aussie made, there's so little left these days that we can buy with confidence
