    Default DIY - Kayak rudder system

    G'day guys,
    Was just wondering if anyone has made a home made kayak rudder system?
    OR
    If anyone has an old disused kayak they were thinking of throwing out that i could pinch the rudder system off.
    I'm planning on making an SOF kayak very soon, I looked at the kits you can buy and they look to be around $200 which is way too pricey for my budget.

    If anyone has good ideas about making one let me know 'cause i reckon it would look bad ####!

    The way our dollar is going, you could import something from Duckworks
    for a -lot- less than a few months ago... US$100 for a polymer/stainless
    unit. Anyway, the rudder is only part of the cost. Control lines & foot-braces
    are still extra...
