Equivalent Timbers
I have been looking at the plans for the YM Senior for some while now, and wanted to cost up a build.
As the plans are English, and older than I am, the timber listed is primarily Mahogany for all the frames and major construction, with English Oak as and alternative in some places. Also a small amount of Pine, mostly on the floor.
Can anyone suggest what would be a local (e.g. economical, easy to find) timber equivalent that would be suitable for a build like this, timbers that I could get in SE Queensland? Would probably look to buy rough sawn larger planks in preference to DAR timbers from a hardware store.
Thanks
Simon
