Queensland Kauri ID
Hi All,
Recently acquired some timber which I believe is Queensland Kauri?? (old stock, been in storage about 60 years!) Could you please have a look at the images and let me know what you think...
And if it is Queensland Kauri will it be Ok for boat frames....

Looks like Kauri
You know, a few years ago I posted a question about where growing Kauri trees might be found in the Sydney region, but on the general woodwork forum, and there were quite a few helpful replies, so maybe this thread would do better on the general woodwork forum??
How you can tell Queensland Kauri from the other related species is a puzzle to me, and knowing NOTHING about it I would have guessed that these pictures could be Fijian Kauri or one of the others.....
Just a thought....
