Strip Plank Suppliers in Tasmania
Does anyone know a mill or retailer that can supply WRC or Pawlonia ( Kiri ) strip plank suitable for 16ft Kayaks in tasmania ?
Other options I have thought of -
1) Because I am looking at small quantities , I might be able to afford some celery top pine from local millers. The 'stitch an glue' kayak plans have two chines with a mximum width of 3", so I could save cutting up some of AD's excellent plywood and make my own sections.
2) Buy some thicker WRC planks and a Band saw and a Thicknesser - I am goign to have to buy them soon anyway. hard to get clear WRC though
All thoughts welcome

What about King Billy Pine, I have supplied it in the past for a few kayaks. One lot I organised for a mate to cut into strips.
The second went to a guy who cut his own. When I delivered it, I looked at probably 6 strip kayaks he had already built of various timbers that he had hanging around his garage. They were impressive.Kev
