Merbu Decking
Hi, Im new to this so I hope I get it right. I have recencently built a raised deck at the deep end of our swimming pool and have noticed that after a some heavy rain that the pool becomes very dirty. I thought it was just dirty rain, but, i am now wondering that as the deck is actually directily above the pool, could the Merbu be bleeding colour into the water. I have not sealled the deck as yet, and that is another question. What type of sealer should I use and will useing a sealer solve the problem of the pool water turning dirty after it rains. Hope someone can help,
Regards Denco

Merbau Decking
More than likely that the tannins are leeching from the Merbau. If you sand, seal and coat the deck this should ameliorate the problem. However some water will still get around to the under side of the slats and cause some problem.
Failing that, pull up the deck and do all the above before re-laying it.Last edited by artme; 23rd November 2007 at 03:41 PM. Reason: Spelling-Keyboard is still an idiot
