Leaking Steel Roof
Hi all
I have a kliplock flat steel roof with a sloping section joining it as shown in the images. In the past month it has leaked after heavy rain; the water coming into the house. The flat steel roofing on the right side is tucked under the sloping section but has never been bent upward at the end which usually prevents this type of leaking from occurring. The downpipe near this area is 100 x 50. What are my options?
- Get a plumber or roofer to replace this area of the roof?
- Use lead flashing to cover the join to stop the flowback of rainwater into the ceiling cavity?
- Replace the downpipe with 100 x 75?
- Any other options?
The kliplock section isn't manufactured any more.

Where is the water supposed to go when it hits this section of roof?
Or is that the guttering on the right (outside)? Sure has a narrow gap if it is.

The water goes to the right side of the image, into the guttering. It is kept clean and downpipes are always cleaned. Yes, the gap is narrow.

Get a metal roofing contractor or roof plumber to have a look at it.
100% change downpipe to min 100 x 75The person who never made a mistake never made anything

Yes, gutter looks a problem, as well as needing another/extra downpipe, but the sheets not weathered (turned up) would probably be the main problem
Provided the roof sheeting is in good condition then remove the sheets, turn them up, and refit.
If it is zincalume/ colorbond DO NOT use lead

I've had a roofing plumber in and he's found corrosion in the section to be the problem. The only problem now is to source the Stramit Speed Deck 500 as it's only available in Tasmania. I've contacted Stramit and the cost of the replacement section is $1650 and shipping to Sydney from Hobart is another $1600. I'm hoping the plumber can use the readily available sheeting and flash it to the existing.
