A genuine brown bagger, eh?
What about ipe' as a teak deck substitute? It seems to have all the qualities you mention, only downside I could see is that it is REAL heavy. Here on the west coast, at least, it is pretty affordable as compared to many other tropical hardwoods. I have a couple of sources right local to me at around $4.50/BF.
