Just spent a couple of hours with Garry Kerr , he is working on another book on Tasmanian boats , and people associated with them.
I forget which island it is , but some old bloke that farms on an island is finally giving it away , and Garry is going down to interview him , and then crew for him , when he takes his boat down to Hobart .
So , if you know Garry , ask him how the trip down went , it could be a good story.
Garry had a good look at HS , in the shed , all spruced up.
But she won't be going to Hobart , not with me , anyway.

Getting an early start
I arrived in Hoibart on Tues, picked up the motorhome on Wednesday and headed down to Cockle Creek which is a far as you can drive in Tasmania, for the start of the Tawe Nunnagah
Mobile Broadband is working perfectly, so well infact the the organisers are using my laptop to get the weather reports and to print the daily skipper reports that each boat get every morning. The news also leaked out that I have a 240V inverter so the table is covered in recharging mobile phones.
No sailing for me, but I'm just back from a 14 Km bush walk from Cockle Creek to Lion Rock - really about as far south as you can gowithout getting wet. SPectacular views but I suspect I will regret it tomorrow.
I'd inlcude photos but I'm too tired to upload them
Today was a get to know everyone cruise, the real trip kicks off tomorrow as we slowly head towards Hob art and the WBF.
Regards

So there's Peter with a Canoes & Lampshades stand
Hard to imagine Andrew -not- having a stand somewhere.
Maybe we ought to all print the woodwork forums banner & wear it as a badge or something so we can recognize one another away from those two stands....
cheers

I will have a WWF cap & shirt but I won't be able to wear the shirt everyday, you'll smell me coming.

thanks Kev
I had access to a colour printer & a laminator today.
so I printed a silly number of the forum banner with logo.
Will cut them up tomorrow on a guillotine, add a safety pin and,
(if they will accept them and are willing to do so) will drop a
handful off to each of AD's & Peter's stands on Friday to be
offered to forum members as they 'check in'.
That way we'll be able to pick each other out in a crowd by
sight rather than smell...
Wish I was bringing a boat or 3 down.
cheers

I'll be on the Woodcraft Guild Tasmania stand on Monday, wearing my Forum cap.
Unfortunately I have commitments in the northwest of the state on the first 3 days of the festival.Kev

Unfortunately??
Nice patch of real estate is the north-west.

Another day closer to the WBF. Currently in Cygnet after leaving Dover this morning.
.My campervan has become known as the IT Office
Anyone needing a weather report printed and laminated, they come to me.It's also the accounting office as the club secretary is keeping track of the drinks/meal tab, If I were so inclined I could make a small fortune in charging mobile phones. It appears nearly every one bought one with them but not all of the fleets stops have power available, except for me.Geoff
