I guess we both found the same links , at the same time.
Paul , I'd like to see you really press them , to actually see it in operation.
My opinion (and its not even worth 2 cents) , is that its not a Putt Putt engine , its for a small yacht .
That single cylinder buzzes at 3600 to produce that 7hp.
My Lombardini twin produces 13hp at 3600 , but damn , even for a twin , thats buzzing !.
At 2200 , it does just fine , it has enough power to push the boat along fine.
With the Ferryman/n I'd be interested at what revs it is happy at , and what sort of power it produces then.
In the meantime , an internet seach on the Ferryman/n marine diesel will give you plenty of ammo to slap those turkeys with , when they get to talk to you.
On the other hand , that 10hp twin Nanni could be a great Put Put engine.

"rob". Yep I agree. I have only just read the bit of info on the site regarding the 7hp.
Of course if someone had actually spoken to me, I might be a bit more knowledgeable about the little motor.
Also disappointing it is "raw water" cooled. No mention of a heat exchanger option. (that I could see).

That 10hp de-rated twin I reckon would be the go.
I would have used it probably , but it didn't fit as well as the Lombardini in my boat.
But you need to make an educated decision , and that education SHOULD have been facilitated by the turkeys whose job it is to promote and sell it.
Very disappointing.
If I remember right Rick Frost , who is at the WBF now , is familiar with the 10hp twin.

Jeez , I just had a look at the specifications for the 10hp Nanni twin.
At 2200 , it is producing maximum torque of just over 26NM , and 8 HP , while sipping just 1 litre of diesel per hour.
The reason I didn't get it , was that the distance from the shaft , to the bottom of the sump was too great , replacing a Yanmar YSE 12 , and only the 13 HP Lombardini fitted.
But it looks a very good little engine.
Are you at all interested in a Hybrid ?, fishing under electric power , and the diesel to get out , and back.

No, I am not interested in the hybrids.
The reason I like to keep up with the new small engines, is because I help people with their boat restorations/rebuilds.
Naturally, they ask about new/second hand engine options.
So seeing the little NANNI for the first time, I was quite intrigued.

I just won't be recommending the company for it's, "personal service".

Personally, I am a bit of a Yanmar fan.

Paul , I also made a lot of enquiries of Nanni at one time , and got stuffed around a bit.
But I went higher up , and they couldn't be more helpful.
If you want a contact , I'm sure I could provide one or 2.

You will have no problems getting rid of your YSE12, They are a good little engine.

You are right about NANNI.
If I ever need to find more info, I will go straight to the top and let the feed back trickle down.

Didn't take many, & most of what I took were ambiance rather than individual boats.
Or have already been posted. So many boats I'd like to build...
Didn't go onto the pontoons to see the moored boats. Happy with the little 'uns on land.

I was rather taken with this open water rowing boat which appeared in AABB a year or two back.
Strong resemblance to a SLSA surf boat. Looks very sleek and capable.

These little boats are a great idea. Sort of what I tried to do 10 years ago for my kids.

Salamanca Place after dark was pretty. And bustling.

Got to meet Peter, the builder of Houdini "Dexterity".
More convinced than ever that Houdini is the boat for me. Plans ordered.

Was good to meet Cliff, Peter, AD & Kev.
The band on Saturday night was a lot of fun.
Generally, it was just nice to be in Hobart again.

Thanks for posting everyone, great pics. Makes me more determined than ever to get to the next one.

There were some very nice Oughtred boats, didn't see any Bolger boats apart from the usual Micro Trawler and didn't see any Micahalak boats either. Don't think I saw any Storer boats come to think of it?? There were a few Welsford boats as already mentioned. The Norwalk Island Sharpies were there in force, too.
