Blaxland and Chapman engines and bronze parts
Not sure as to whether THIS is the right spot, but I have many engines and parts. Too many to list and as I now longer have my boat, I have to clean out the shed. Many bronze goodies and general boat bitz are just getting in my way. The result of compulsive acquisition when all these things were just others junk.
The Oughtred Wherry has gone to a good home, BUT, not too sure about the 6 metre fantail ,blackbut carvel-built lake boat- - my other pride and joy, I suspect the new owner has dripped it all in resin and cloth- he seemed a bit concerned that all the bronze rivets might pop out of the steamed frames! I think I should have interviewed the tyre kickers with more vigour.

Help my boat wont go in the water !
Not sure also if this is where I put this but here goes. I have purchased a lovely putt putt wooden boat which is powered by a Blaxland Chapman Pup petrol motor. When it is out of the water and I have motor going and put in gear, it all works fine. But as soon as I put it in the river and put in gear the motor stalls. Can some one please help me, I am new at this boating caper especially this type of boat, but so want to get out there ! Paul

Sorry for the threads drift.
Spnorris 4, howhard is it to start the motor after it has stalled in the water? I am wondering if there is a water leak between the water jacket and cylinder saturating the internals and putting out the fire. This would be unlikely if the motor starts easily as soon as the boat is pulled from the water, but if it is hard to start at that point, but better a week later once it has had a chance to dry out, then it is a distinct possibility.
If the motor starts and runs as soon as it is pulled from the water, it is likely that the motor is worn and cannot sustain the effort to work the boat.
