well chosen. near perfect fit for your wish-list.
    you'll have to either
    a) part with a lot more money, or
    b) accept a much more complex rig / de-rig routine at each end of a sail
to get a better performing (or looking) boat.

And a Good Boat has found a new home with someone who will appreciate her
for what she is, not denigrate her for what she is not.

    Well done !!

Thanks for the kind words about my choice... always good to get positive reinforcement that I didn't have a brain snap and throw my money away. !

The fellow I bought it from said that a lot of people turned their noses up at it as it was solid timber.
Each to their own... and I'm glad they did.

Another good thing is that I can set the oars, let go of the sheet, stand up, lift out the mast, dump it in the hull and get rowing. Takes a minute or so.

Capsize practice will be next, along with seeing how it sits when full of water.
    Cheers,
    Clinton

Might want to lash some buoyancy bags under the seats first.
Without them she'll float, but probably not be even slightly self-rescuing.
If there's enough wind to dunk her, the resultant chop will wash right over her.

Do you happen to know what she is? I'd love to get that plan to build after Gentry is done...

Its a strip planked "Catspaw dinghy". The Wooden Boat magazine website sells the plans here
    Is that what you mean?
