canoe seats
I saw an excellent seat at the wood show in Brisbane recently in a canoe.
It appeared to be made with a mesh like what used to be used as chair backs and seats a few years ago.
Does anyone know where this material can be purchased from?

Cane Seat
Woven cane seats are a nice finishing touch for a traditional canoe. You've probably already found what you want, but just in case you haven't you can find in in several forms.
For a do-it-yourself weaver from scratch just google "seating cane"
For the woven sheets that you install in a frame youself google "pre-woven cane"
For a complete seat google "canoe seat cane"
I would go for the whole thing, you get a nice hardwood frame and a pro job. There's several different materials used for the cane, if you go with one of the DIY routes you'll need to research which is best suited for a boat.
And of course add your location to the google search text if you are hoping for a local supplier and don't want to buy over the net.
either way Good Luck!
