Port Adelaide has quite a bit more than just a Football Team to it's name.
There is a Aviation Museum, A Railway Museum, A Military Vehicles Museum & Maritime Museum there. It has some very nice old buildings & even a couple of Trendy pubs & Cafe's.
Over the past 15 - 20 years, the local council has been working to improve the appeal of the area and it seems to be all starting to come together now.
Fletchers Slipway is just a short distance across the bridge from the town center, so there is plenty to see & do, & plenty of nice places to eat & drink for anyone thinking about coming down to see the old Clipper.

Ah that polar vortex again!
The ship's arrival has been delayed by the bad weather in North America, it seems:

There's a clanger right there..
She crossed into the southern hemisphere *for the last time* on 25/12/2013 according to the CoA web-site.
My atlas shows the entirety of North America in the northern hemisphere.
I cannot for the life of me see how bad weather in N.Am. in Jan can affect something which should be near the southern tip of Africa or into the Indian Ocean.

My understanding is she's in the south Atlantic. The Adelaide site is not updated frequently, the last being in late December.

I took these a while ago, but I havent been on the forum for a while.
I havent seen anybody working on her yet, but she is sitting on a Barge in Port Adelaide.
She is fenced off, but you can still get pretty close to her if you want to come & see her, but I'm afraid there is not too much to see at this point in time.
In case your interested.

Adelaide in Port Adelaide
Thanks for the post and the pictures Steve
Can you just imagine how the hull must be drying out in the SA climate after all those years in the frigid north!
The Save the City of Adelaide web site hasn't had much activity since the ship's arrival either, so I was wondering what was actually happening?
