I visited Garry again today .
He is ready to spline a couple more planks in.
It will look very impressive , ketch lug rigged , and 6 oarsmen.

Bill , as you know there are Portland , Port Fairy and Warrnambool whale boat crews , and the Port Fairy people also take their lifeboat out .
I guess its just another boat to play with , and explore its capabilities.
Its going to be a lug ketch , with 6 rowers , as per design.
If you are a rower mate , you will find a job in Port Fairy (seriously) , the owner of this ships boat is looking for more crew.
I reckon their dream would be to have the whale boat , rescue boat and the ships boat all on the water at the same time.

Thanks Rob,
I've been getting out on the Hopkins in a whale boat a bit recently, training for Feb 19th. Although we have a fair sized team, tonight we couldn't get a full crew .
I reckon I could probably persuade a few lads to Pt Fairy to row the life boat and that new one if its not too rough .
There's a few over here also very interested in getting a St Ayles skiff project going, along the the lines of the Scottish Coastal thing. Any thoughts there?

Bill , I've alerted the Portland crew to this rowing opportunity , and I reckon it would be great if you can all get together at times , to showcase these boats.
And yes , it might lead to a St Ayles skiff in Warrnambool too , that would be even better !.

Bill , a friend of mine is sending me the plans and offsets for a Montague whaler !.
Now that would be a nice addition to the local fleet , especially with its lug ketch and centreboard setup. Montague and Armadillo
British Military Powerboat Trust, Coastal Forces, Gunboats, Target Boats, High Speed Launches, Motor Gun Boats, Torpedo Boats, Patrol Boats, Seaplane Tenders .
Probably similar to the Port Fairy Ships boat.

Today the HMB Endeavour replica left Portland , escorted out by a TS26 , which I was crewing , and the Portland whaleboat .
And for some reason I can't post an image.
I'll try again.
