Congrats on the TS16. They're a fine boat.
I had a 6HP Johnnie - Often used my TS16 just as a motor boat but never
made any attempt to match prop to boat. A previous owner may have already
done so... or not.
I felt 6HP was a really good size for the boat.
Max economical cruise at a bit over 1/2 throttle - easy on the motor, with a good
reserve of power for manoevering or for punching into a stiff head wind.
Boat would go quite a bit faster with more throttle, but waves & consumption
increased much more. If it felt like the wind was pushing it around, I'd just
drop the C/B a bit until positive control regained.
My most useful accessory was a 1.2M length of PVC pipe which was a firm fit
onto the throttle grip so I could sit forward & keep her bum from dragging.
(also make life quieter sitting further from the noise-maker)
cheers
AJ

Nice !!
Have you tried the 2HP on the boat yet?
If you don't mind going a bit slowly, it might be enough.
The TS doesn't need much to move it, especially if you keep its bum from dragging.
