    Default Raid looks Great

    Hi Cliff,

I enjoyed the pics. Its great to see another old OK Dinghy being enjoyed- mine was built in 1967 and is 'unrestored' but still going.

I take it petrol-powered boats are not allowed on the dam I noticed electric and steam power along with oar, paddle and sail.

I wonder how the 'powers that be' would class an electric trolling motor charged by an on-board petrol generator?

Tinaroo looks like a great event, If only we could overcome the tyranny of distance (and petrol prices)
    Charter boat? What charter boat!?

    Tinaroo is huge....
It holds 407,000 mega litres, is 15Kms long with 209 Kms of shoreline.
There are ski boats & jet skis & areas set aside for them.
This event was held at the Sailing Club at Black Gully, the power boats streer clear of the area.
Apart from the steamer & a couple of little electrics, at least 3 of the bigger boats had motors as well.

The Secret has an outboard in it that goes through the back left corner of the hull, you can see it in the photo above.

On this map, the Sailing Club is at point A.

could we ever use some of that water down here !!
Small world... my dad was involved in the construction & early operations of Tinaroo Dam. We left there in the early '60s. A long, long way away now...
