Nice boat predominantly in foam/glass construction. Biting Midge has built a number of boats that way before he was converted - or converted himself.

But Venus is a deceptively modern boat.

Only criticism I have looking at things quickly is the square leading edge of the keel. This alone probably gives away half a knot and about 5 degrees in point upwind - for no real good reason.

When you add both effects together when you are trying to get somewhere it might add up to a loss of about 10% in real performance.

If rounded off - or even better - foil shaped it - is also easier to build in foam glass than what is shown here.
