I'm with Mark - I found it 'cleaner' to spread each tile - once you get into the swing of it I think it would be just as quick as trying to get the cement up the wall and the clean up after.

I have just done a small job useing the "you mix it" stuff and although happy with the product I found cleaning up after each batch that lasted about 1 sq m was a pain (ie the bucket, scrapper etc) also a couple of times I needed just enough for one tile and couldn't be fagged mixing a small amount. I figured ready mixed would be better - any comments?

Yeah ... that's a point but it depends how much you are doing at once. The cost difference can be pretty big. I had a 1 litre premix for those circumstances ... but hey whatever works ... there haven't been any posts saying 'all my tiles fell off the wall' yet!

I use Davo Mastic and it's good, the Aba mastic is equally good.
