I have started getting "adds by Google" across the bottom of my screen, is there a way I can stop them from appearing,

Are they embedded or overlaying? Can you take a screenshot?

Embedded ads only show if you’re not logged in or a new member.

If they’re showing as overlaid, it will be adware in your browser.

I don't think they would be embedded, they come up from the bottom of the screen with a up/down arrow in the left and corner, click on this and they go down, the up arrow is still visible and if I choose another forum the adds reappear. I don't think they are part of the forum but they are a Pia.

Yeah that’s adware/malware, not part of the forum software.

You'll need to either go through your browser settings or run your antivirus etc software to detect it and delete it

So...

with

Plus the adds were most likely promoting things you had been searching or viewing over the last month or so.

Yes I have installed AdBlock and the adds have stopped appearing so all good.
