There's another problem, at least it's happening to me.

I'm not getting email notification of updated threads or PMs, even though I've checked that my whatyercallit is set to receive notification etc. and which hasn't been changed since day one.
I make things, I just take a long time.

Red face Was it just me

I think everything at this end is working well now but just in case you need to know for next time it was a bit of a battle to load WWF site for a while last night. I tried flushing the DNS Cache as described but I kept getting the message invalid prompt even though I made sure to follow the script given three times to make utterly sure (on a PC with Windows XP using IE 8). I disconnected the modem, restarted the PC as advised all to no avail. Logged out, came back as a guest and WWF main page looked all right but navigating to any of the forums froze the browser, tried again but even though I logged out last visit I was logged in again somehow. While logged in, again trying to go to any of the forums froze IE so I gave it a rest. I eventually got back on later in the night and while things seemed a bit jittery it was functioning as normal.

Tonight everything seems Ok except I had to login again and IE doesn't seem as stable as usual, well as stable as it gets as it does has its moments. Anyway no big deal, just in case you needed to know for next time and I mean not to cast stones at the backroom people probably pedalling pretty hard to keep this show on the road. Thank you, over and out

This was happening to me as well. I use gmail and have just noticed it has been treating all forum mail since the update as spam. So check whatever mail client you use isn't doing the same.

I have received several notifications of updated threads.

PMs, are you saying that you are not receiving PMs????

I was in the same boat and sent Steven a PM. He replied "kqjw hefjk;4h wro;i4je; jkrbljhg4rpl; v2bfk;jhqb; hbelrjhvb kjnkjdf (^&nb lkjjhkh*&^*&6)" so I thanked him. The next thing I knew my email notifications resumed.

I posted an update in my latest WIP thread on Tuesday (and reviewed it), but then I received an email from an interested member who asked if the update on my blog was going to be matched in my WIP. I replied that I had duplicated the post in my WIP, but when I checked, it had disappeared! I posted it again. Strange times.

Problem with emails is because the person who had the IP before us was blacklisted as a spammer. Didn't know this when we got the new server. Steven has applied for all blacklists to be reversed.

It could take a little while for the complete reversal but most of it seems to be flowing out alright now. I was getting hundreds of notification emails bounced back to me because of this. I haven't had one since late yesterday arvo so it pretty much like it's all clear now.

Steven has also given them a very big virtual foot up the bum for reselling a server that had been previously black listed for spamming.

Got enough problems to cope with without that.

Not sure what's worse, spammers or the mongrel who resells the spammer IP without mention of previous problems. Both as bad as each other I reckon.

    Cheers - Neil

    G'day Neil!
Regardless of the problems you have encountered with the up-grade, I am sure I can speak for the majority of forum members that we very much appreciate the hard work involved and the amount of time it takes in the planning and implementation of such an exercise.(DAMHIK)!
Well done Steven, Neil and team!

I may have missed some black lists, so for those still not receiving notifications, please PM me your email address.

Sure enough, Gmail was blocking all emails coming in from the forum since the upgrade. Hopefully it's all sorted now and life can return to normal.

Sorry Fred if my post was vauge, no I've been getting PMs, just not emails that I'd got a PM. I only knew I had some PMs just through the pop-up window whatyercallit.

So I'll wait and see what happens now.

I use Gmail as well and had no emails put in spam, curious.

Thanks for your explanation Chris, let's hope it's all sorted now.
