    Default Forum problems

    Hi,

Im having heaps of problems starting new threads in the concrete section, it keep asking me for a password etc even though im already logged in. I re log in but still asks for password.

Also on a thread i did manage to start the posts disappear & always need to refresh the page to see new recent posts.

Is it my browser or something ? (IE 7)

    Any one know why ?

    Thanks.

Jake are you referring to this thread? Or are you trying to start another new thread?

As for the logging in, can you check to see which url you were logging in on, if you logged in on one but but sometimes you may follow a link and you might be switching to another url where you may need to log in again. For example you have woodworkforums.com and woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au.
    Cheers

Didn't realise there was two forum names.

Tried the one on your post & i could see my post but couldn't start a new thread as it won't let me in.

Even on this thread i had to refresh the page just to see this post. (edit)

Why the two different web names anyway ?

Because we started with woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au in 1999 and changed to the more direct woodworkforums.com which is easier for some search engines to find and keep records of because a lot of record keeping sites don't recognise the .com.au tag To confuse things even more we later added woodworkforums.com.au to keep others from using the name.

Log into either one then click the remember me box if that doesn't work log into woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au and woodworkforums.com, do the remember me thing and DON'T log out when you finish. This will let you back in without a need to log in each time.

Every time you log out you clear all the cookies from your computer and will need to log in from scratch. If you don't log out your session will end when you leave the forums or close down the site but you will not delete cookies and will be automatically logged back in when you return.

    Cheers - Neil

"Remember me" has usually worked for me to link the separate domains. And automatic login has also been my experience. But it seems that when I do take such a break (usually because I can't log out due to apparent database backup), my new login resets the "You last visited" field, and New Posts are relative to the new login - a bit awkward if I've been away for a few days and "Today's Posts" leaves a gap. Short of manual intervention by a moderator, is there any way to recover the previous "you last visited" date/time? Or some nearby value? Shouldn't be in my cookies if they've been cleared as stated.

This kept happening to me the other day, except I was trying to post in an existing thread. I pm'd a moderator, can't remember which one. Its working ok now.

    How annoying.
This is the message i keep getting below.

For some reason i can start a new thread on the subjects either above or below the concreting one no problems but not this one.

Im already logged in so i shouldn't be asked to log in to start a new thread.

I really don't understand whats going on.
