    Default Hughies dilemma.

    Hi Robbos,
Heres a update on the current situation.
I have a limited capacity to logon.

The link you sent me no longer works and I can only read as a visitor. Yet I can then click on any bodies avatar etc and send them a pm and it shows that I am logged on. Going back to the opening pages of all the forums listed it shows me logged in at both the top and the bottom of the page. On opening any specific forum I am then no longer logged on.
I am running XP Professional sp2, I have Nortons antivirus etc and have done several full scans over the last couple of days.
With this I use Ad-ware for trojan removal plus CCleaner for general maint. Both I have run several times as well. Nothing un-toward shows up.The updates for Norton have been done prior to any scan.

    Step one, log out.
Step two, reregister as a new name.
Step three, log in as the new name.
If all works fine, the problem was the new BB software.
If all is still mucked up, the problem is at your end, wipe & reload.

I think the bug is in the latest updates to VBulletin. I couldn't log in to routerforums.com, kept reseting to the registration page. I could log in here and on an older version of VBulletin on another site. I got in by clicking on register; this page showed me my private messages note and as being logged in. Then I clicked on the main forums link and I was signed on. Our Administrator Mark just figured out the fix.

Let me clarify: We had a similar problem on our VBulletin powered website.(routerforums.com) I made mention of how I got around it until a fix was created. Just trying to be of assistance, and my name is Mike.

I'm having some glitches like this too. When I bring up the Forum site sometimes I'm still logged on, sometimes I'm not so I view as a visitor; then I'll visit again, and it shows me as logged on?! Defintely something has changed with the updated software.

    Cheers,

Hughie is obviously the bloke that originally wrote to with his log on problem.

Um, I just had a thought.

You are not using an automated "junk cleaner" are you?

I did a majpr cleanup on this computer last night and one of the programs deleted all the cookies and I had to enter all my logins on quite a few places.

Could be worth a look, if so, check which cookies it is deleting.
