    Default A little bit frustrating

When I go to a forum, or a thread in a forum, I have to refresh the page to see the latest posts. Eg When I go to say the General Woodwork forum I have to then refresh to see the latest threads. Then when I click on a thread I have to then refresh to see the latest posts. This ends up being quite time consuming.

Also, if I want to post a comment I often have to log in a second time to do it.

I don't know if that's how it is for everyone but it's a bit annoying. Can someone tell me if that's the normal way of viewing or is there something wrong with my set-up?

    Thanks, Kev

Hi Kev, sounds like your computer is bringing up the page from your cache memory which is not unusual to begin with but when you post in the thread you have open then the page should automatically update for you. I am sure someone will come to your rescue.

Kev, are you accessing say WOODWORK - GENERAL from the main page and it's not showing new threads, so you have to refresh or you using the go back button to go back to WOODWORK - GENERAL and then refreshing? Same for posts, are you using the go back button via the browser?

Or is it that the pages are not fully Loading?

As for the logging problem, are you Ticking the Remember Me box when you log on?

What Browser are you on too?
    Cheers

    Hi DJ,

When I initially log on and go to the main forum page I can see the latest thread in each forum. When I click on the forum the latest thread is no longer there and I have to refresh to see it. Then when I click on a thread the latest posts are sometimes not there and I have to refresh to see them.

I do then use the back button to go back to see other threads and forums. I have to refresh almost every page I go to.

It appears that my computer takes me back to the thread/post as it was when I previously viewed it when I was last logged on.

    I'm using Internet Explorer 7.

And, no I don't click "remember me". I'll try that and see what happens.

    Thanks

Sounds like it might be your settings on your browser.

Can you check your "Browsing history" via the Tools>Internet Options then under the General tab you should see "Browsing History" Click on Settings and check that the setting for "Check for newer versions of stored pages: is set on Automatically
    Cheers

    What???

I just came back to this thread and it said last post 27 March.

I'll change my settings as you suggest DJ and see if that fixes it.

Stupid question I know but I just have to ask.

Is the date on your computer correct?

    All is now well.

Yeah Neil the date was set right. DJ came to the rescue - changing the settings did the trick. Many thanks.
