BUT as I have stated it is most often from clean fresh start of a morning IF I try sign in after clicking on a sent email from the WWF from a subscribed thread it will NOT accept my sign in? Now this after I have shut down for 8 hrs and FF settings are clean ALL in Cache the night before. What do you mean by "SIGN IN" ? I don't know anywhere this expression is used on WWF and the words mean different things to different people. Can you clarify YOUR meaning and use of the expression ? While I think I know what you mean, I don't think you are using the expression consistently (to fit my meaning). When I click on a link it simply take me to the website page it refers to. This may or may not require me to be a registered user. It's just a link.

I have to sign in via the WWF Home page on FF which starts up when I open FF it allows a sign in, this page is open when I try signing in via the subscribed thread link which opens in a new tab.
Lets see same browser, same Cache, same Forum. But different action/web navigation on your part.

I have had trouble more recently when NOT signed after having signed out and wishing to sign back in it accepts the sign in BUT all of a sudden I am NOT signed in.

Dabbler if I could do a screen shot of a nano second I would. Okay - can you tell us point by point what steps your take, not in sentences. As basic as: 1 Turn on computer 2. Click on FF icon 3. Open a new tab in FF 4. Click on remembered website (for example). There is method is the madness - seriously - it is a real troubleshooting technique.
You might want to google "firefox login issues" or "firefox loggin me out" or similar. You might be surprised at the result. Equally you'll find Mozilla help pages that talk about cache/history/cookies etc.

Thanks heaps Dabbler I must look into why FF can not understand between one forums, companies, term of Sign In or Log In as well as why its only this forum none other site I Sign or Log into I am having the problem with.

I will never doubt that the software which is running this forum has or can possibly be having a problem again I have been set straight.

Ray, I realised that you refuse to click the Remember Me button but I just have to point out that if you have your browser set to empty the cache and history when you shut it down, it will remove the the stored info, so you may as well click the button when you log on.

Can you at least try using it just to see if it helps to solve your problems or not.

If you cannot bring yourself to try suggestions offered by us, well I simply have to say that we will probably start ignoring you because you are set in your ways etc.

Not meaning to be nasty or anything but unless you try suggestions etc we can only do so much.
    Cheers

At last seems to be fixed first time in months I have been able to sign in via an emailed subscription thread and I changed nothing nor did I click Remember Me.

Thanks for all the input and helpful suggestions all which had been tried prior me even bringing the matter up.

One swallow does not a summer make.

You said you are using the latest FF & windows 7. I mentioned Norton Identity Safe etc. But you haven't said if you use any of these sort of programs.

    • What version of FF are you currently using?
    • Do you use Norton or similar as mentioned above?

There is no problem with the forums it is tried and true. You yourself can attest to this because of your years of trouble free use prior to these problems.

There have been problems with browsers and settings at users end and a problem with the first skin we had on here with the new upgrade. This was fixed and is the reason why there is a new skin "Default WWF Style and Single Column Style." Both have a mainly white background and orange navigation bars. So if the old style loads with more of a sandy to pinky background and pale fawn colour nav bars then you are having a caching problem and may have problems which were fixed with the shift to the new styles.

Why do you steadfastly refuse to do the most simple thing possible and click on the Remember Me box? There is nothing sinister about using it. All that happens is it makes a cookie that remembers your login details for you, saving you the hassle. This info is kept on your computer, can't be accessed by anyone else and is only used by WWF to remember your login, and any other personalized settings you may have.

You have asked for help and have been given plenty not only this time but in the past. However unless you are prepared to help yourself by trying some of the suggestions, it is really a waste of time asking and it's a fair bet that your problems could well persist.

Please concentrate any response on the bulk of this email rather than focus on the last statement above.

    Neil
