Are you ticking the ‘Remember Me” box?

Has your browser been updated recently? Sometimes this can change settings, such as clearing your cache, cookies etc needed to keep your login details

Same for anti virus software.

Hi DJ,

Ever since joining the Forum, I have to log back in at least twice a day should I leave the forum running in the background on my PC, if I remember to press the "Activity Stream" very couple of hours then I stay logged in, but every morning without fail I have to log back in.

I thought this was normal for every member of the forum and some sort of security measure, so I am interested to hear more about this "Remember Me" box is this in the forum settings? or are you just referring to Google Chrome (or another search engine) and it's ability to remember log in details, if the latter then that wont help with me getting logout every 3 hours or so due to me having no activity with the Forum.

The new windows 11 will log you out of every site every time it goes to sleep or is shut down for "security".

I disabled its sleep function and never shut down to overcome this "feature".

I don't think that is my issue, because I can spend all day working on my PC with the forum running in the background and I still get log out unless I have activity with the forum, it feels like I am getting timeout due to no activity.

Its just a small box to the lower left by 15mm (roughly from memory) of where you type in your user name and PW to sign in.

Thanks Rob, I was looking for it while being logged in, so just logged myself out and spotted it where you login, I had not noticed it before, so I have ticked it and will see if that sorts out the issue of getting logged out.

Thanks all. I just had to login again........but I also ticked the "remember me" box this time!

Just to say since I pressed the "Remember Me" box I have not had to keep pressing login every few hours, so it works great.

I guess how this works is every few hours the Forum website checks for members login details and if you don't press "Remember Me" you get kicked out or maybe by pressing "Remember Me" it just stops the checking process.
