Yup. Recently when Firefox auto-updates the settings in the Privacy tab tend to screw up. From rumblings on various sites I believe this is a widespread problem.

Follow DJ's instructions to 46150, then in the same menu check that "Always clear my private data when I close firefox" isn't ticked.

If it is, either untick it or click the "settings" button next to it an ensure "cookies" is unticked.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Hi Clam

Can you check the settings DJ mentioned and let us know if it helps?

    thanks

I have still got the problem. All the settings are as stated above. I always had a shortcut to the site and it always worked for me up until yesterday I think it was. I haven't changed any settings or made any changes to my computer so I don't think it is a computer problem. If it is, then it is strange it is happening to so many forumites computers. It's a pain in the neck to have to keep signing in.

John, can you PM me your password and I'll log in under your username and shut down the browser and re open it to see what happens on my end.

I tried it for Calm and it was all fine on my end.

    I FIXED IT

not sure how but i found the password wasnt in the remembered password box so i deleted all the cookies and then logged back in and ticked the remember me box - this time a window came up asking if i wanted to save this to the passwords and i said yes and waalaa it bloody works

So dont know how but i fixed it. Will try to find the windows and buttons for the others to try.

The cookies window i hit remove all

The passwords only had Ebay so i didnt delete it but now i have both.

    Hope that helps others

    Cheers

deleted passwprd again, logged out then in and you will notice at the top of the screen it has an extra line that i ticked to confirm save.

Thanks for the help DJ. Your last suggestion seems to have fixed the problem .. I deleted everything in the browser options boxes as you said and then shut down and opened up and ticked the "remember me" box again and closed down again and I got back on without having to sign on. Keeping my fingers crossed.
    Thanks again
